Lite links: Bogleheads

Today’s lite link is a single website:

bogleheads.org

While not specifically a travel site, I wanted to have an entire post dedicated to this one resource because, in my opinion, it is the most useful website in the entire internet.

That’s a bold statement, but I believe it to be true.

Bogleheads is primarily a personal finance website that functions both as a discussion forum and a guide that allows people to optimize their finances.  If you have any questions related to money, including how to get out of debt, minimize expenses, avoid common scams, and invest for the future, this is the site you want to go to.  It’s completely free, exceptionally well moderated (keeping trolls to a minimum), and its regular users provide some of the best advice you can find anywhere.

The subject matter is not only limited to finance; you can put up a post asking about a variety of consumer related issues (travel topics included) and get some great insight from people all over the world with mountains of knowledge.  Want to know about the nuances of Charles de Gaulle airport?  Best time of year to visit Scotland?  Restaurant recommendations in Portland, Maine?  Post up a question, and you’ll get a helpful answer.

The kind folks at bogleheads have helped me tremendously over the years, and if you’re not yet familiar with this website, I encourage you to give it a look.  It’s really great stuff.

Happy Sunday all!
